This Easter Weekend: What the Cross has Accomplished
By jason | March 20, 2008
I am so pumped about this weekend. It’s going to be an amazingly crazy time but even with that I am so stoked about it all. Saturday’s Easter in Independence is going to be so much fun and I’m trusting God will come through with the weather. It will be so much fun to watch the parking lot fill up and see the place packed out with families (I’m trusting God for that too).
But Saturday wouldn’t be anything if it weren’t for Sunday. The resurrection is the vindication of Jesus’ death on a cross. Its because of Jesus’ death and resurrection that we can celebrate, that we can have hope for the future.
Sunday is going to be awesome. The band has some great stuff lined up, they’re playing a couple of my favorite tunes related to the Cross (and it’s all about what I like, right?). We are going to celebrate that God changes lives and because of that my tomorrow can be different than my yesterday - I love that truth. We’re going to hear the stories of three friends and how God has worked in their lives. It’s going to rock.
It’s going to be a stellar weekend all around.
And you will want to be there for the very opening song on Sunday, trust me on this one. Get your coffee and get in the gym. ![]()
