Sunday Recap @ LifeConnection
By jason | June 2, 2008
This past Sunday we began a new series we’re calling Legitimate Questions. In this mini-series we’re looking at two important questions:
Why would God send anyone to hell?
How can Jesus die for the sin of the whole world?
So we’re taking them as two sides of the same coin and this weekend Jon Ralls, a friend who now teaches at a college in Moberly, MO taught on the first question yesterday. (And next week we will have our very own Chris Beggs teaching on the second question.)
Jon did a great job of addressing the question in an honest and humble way. Recognizing that it is a tough question and as followers of Christ we mourn at the thought of hell but we must not retreat from this biblical reality. (As soon as I figure out what is going on with sermon cloud and our inability to upload audio I’ll post that to let you know it’s available.)
We tweaked our road map for the morning and through all of the musical worship pieces to the end of the worship experience with only Nickel Creek’s Doubting Thomas at the beginning - great song.
I must say that our bandies were in a groove yesterday and they killed it. I know I’m biased but I think they always do a phenomenal job. But yesterday may have been the best service, musically, we’ve ever had. I don’t know what it was but they did a phenomenal job. (Check over at the LFC blog later today to get a rundown on the musical perspective of the day.)
I’m excited about what the next few months has in store for us. As we ramp into summer ministry mode in June we have some awesome things coming up:
- House Parties
- Block Parties
- KidsCo in the Park
- Servant Evangelism Projects
- Campouts
- Tailgate Parties
- Outdoor Baptism
- Discipleship Groups
- Partner Connection
Man, it is going to be an awesome summer!
