One Prayer Starts this Weekend
By jason | June 10, 2008
As you may know LifeConnection is taking in One Prayer. I’m really excited for us to kick it off this weekend with Make us … Risk-Takers. I’ll be teaching this weekend on the story of David and Goliath.
I specifically have our men on my heart and mind for this weekend (in light of Dude’s Day). I’m convinced that our world needs men who will put on a cup and get in the game. I am praying that we will see God grow up great, godly men in our midst who because of their great confidence in God will take great risks for God.
What could our city look like if men had the kind of confidence in the living God that David had? What could our marriages look like if men took great risks in loving their wives as Christ loved the church? What would our parenting look like if men would sac-up and stay devoted to their wives and children? What would our culture look like if men used their everyday platforms for the cause of Christ? What would our city look like if we took risks in our spiritual lives? And ladies, don’t you worry, I have a risk I want to call you to as well.
We need God to make us risk-takers. (In my not so humble opinion.)
Oh, and might I add that in order to become risk-takers and dreamers and dangerous and wise we must begin with a vision of God. You’ll see it clearly in the story of David. David’s “risk-taking” is really a story about God not a story about David.
You better just come and check it out for yourself.
