      Idol Gives Back

      By jason | April 11, 2008

Aight, so I was in Springfield and didn’t see the AI Gives Back episode. It’s a cool idea and last year they helped raise a lot of money. Did anyone watch it this year? Anyone find it odd that they sang Shout to the Lord?

It is a word in the “Urban Dictionary”, but not anywhere else. Check what it stands for; doesn’t seem to mix well with “Shout to the Lord”

I found it interesting that the girl third from the left almost raised her hand in worship while singing. She caught herself and lowered her hand.

Du, what word are you referring to?

This has been the most God glorifying season of American Idol. One band sang “This Little Light of Mine.” Dolly Parton sang “Jesus and Gravity,” and at the end of the song she told Simeon “Hallelujah Simeon,” like she was implying that she was singing to him. Then the contestants sang “Shout to the Lord.” Is that cool or what? That makes me wonder why Simeon is allowing those songs to be performed. He’s so mean sometimes but the whole Idol Gives Back thing shows a whole different side to him. I hope he knows the Lord. That is just so awesome that God is getting glorified in the most watched television show of the year.
