Friday Links
By admin | June 15, 2007
I took the day off yesterday from the blog. It’s been a crazy couple of days and I just needed a break yesterday. Here are some links I’ve accumulated over the last 3 days. And I will probably have more this weekend.
An SBC entity begins Josiah Road for those “dedicated to changing the world.” It’s one of the lone SBC-sites that actually looks nice (and doesn’t take a day and a half to load up). Check it.
Found a cool interview with the CEO of Peet’s Coffee. For those unfamiliar Peet’s was the inspiration for Starbucks. 3 friends from UC-Berkley loved the coffee so much that they wanted to bring it to Seattle, and so they did. Schultz came into possession of the Starbucks brand after the owners had bought Peet’s. So Peet’s and Starbucks has a integrated history. And Peet’s has really, really good roasts. Check it.
Guy Kawasaki on speaking as a performing art. Read it.
Warren Bird’s list of must read books. Check it.
I thought this might be interesting to some. Inerrancy has a bad rap among many today. Here is JP Moreland’s article “The Rationality of Belief in Inerrancy.” I read it about 10 years ago and was reminded of it again this week. What do you think? Check it.
Top ten list of books on Piety, Sanctification, and Spiritual Growth. Check it.
Here’s an article on Gen Y, “Attracting the 20-Something Worker.” Read it.
There’s an exploration of Core Values in “missional churches” over at StretchyChurch. And yes, I’m listing this link because he mentions LifeConnection. Check it.
You can now pre-order Leopard. Get it.
Use your blog to get a six-figure book deal. Read how.
Tony Morgan has some good thoughts on developing leaders. Read it.
Are there characteristics associated with successful and unsuccessful pastors? This post thinks so. And there seems to be some correlation here and what David Murrow addresses in Why Men Hate Going to Church (more on that later). Check it.
25 and under may not be all that excited about the iPhone. Is the iPhone really just for uppity 30-somethings? Check it.
A new site for artists has just opened. Looks pretty cool. Check it.
Want to explore some more scholarly and academic writings online? You can find everything from articles to book reviews at the Christian Leadership Ministries’ Academic Initiative. Find it.
“Top Ten Craziest TV Preachers.” Enough said. See it.
It’s Official. Steve Jobs announced his resignation at WWDC. Here’s the vid to prove it.
Here’s a clip from Ed Stetzer at the SBC National Convention. Surely is most poignant for anyone in SBC Life but I think would hold true more broadly for evangelicalism. Good stuff.
If you liked that post, check these...

Thanks for linking my “Speaking as a Perfoming Art” on Guy Kawasaki’s blog.
